Standard plastic lenses have been available for nearly 60 years, almost entirely replacing glass lenses by the 1980’s. Plastic is lighter, more comfortable, and more impact resistant than glass.

In recent years, a host of new plastic lens materials have been developed that have these same features, but also create a thinner and more attractive lens than standard plastic.

The clearLIGHT™ lens material is one of these newer generation plastics.
