Optical Dynamics Expands Distribution into the United Kingdom through OMEGA LED Ltd.,

(Louisville, KY)-April 1, 2011-Optical Dynamics, a division of Vision Dynamics LLC, (www.opticaldynamics.com) based in Louisville, Ky., will be debuting its technology and new distribution partnership with Omega LED Ltd. at the Optrafair 2011 at the NEC Birmingham, England.

Optrafair 2011 brings the entire optical industry, especially independent optical owners, to the UK's largest gathering of optical professionals and to network with friends, colleagues and associates.  There are more than 6,500 independent practices in the UK market looking for solutions to fast turnaround and price control in lens production and finishing for eyewear.

This is the first exhibition of Optical Dynamics' products in the United Kingdom. "More than 21 million eye exams are conducted in the UK market each year, and it is certainly a growth market for us," said Mike Yager, VP of Sales for Optical Dynamics. "Optrafair will be held in Birmingham April 9th - 11th 2011 and we encourage everyone attending the show to stop by stand #o62 to learn more about this exciting new technology."

Omega LED Ltd., (http://www.omegaled.co.uk/) based in Altrincham, Manchester, with more than a decade of experience in the UK marketplace has been distributing Ultra Optics and National Optronics lab equipment and will distribute Optical Dynamics' Q2100 Digital Lens systems, nanoCLEAR AR systems and supporting consumables throughout the UK. When combined, these technologies can produce premium digital quality progressive, flat-top and aspheric single vision lenses directly to the finished Rx from liquid lens monomer. Lens materials include; clearLIGHT Plus, and three photochromic lenses called sunSMART Grey, sunSMART Brown and ULTRAsun. All are proprietary high index materials designed and formulated by Optical Dynamics.

"We have been searching for new technologies to bring to the UK Optical market and we are pleased to announce a new relationship with Optical Dynamics", says Brian Shuttleworth, Director of Omega LED. "We will be offering this exciting new technology to the UK for the first time. We feel this is a great opportunity for small to mid-sized labs, retailers and independent optical shops to be able to produce their own digital quality lenses with anti-reflective coatings in less than 90 minutes."

"The purchase price of a complete Optical Dynamics system is a fraction of the cost of digital surfacing equipment and offering anti-reflective coatings in-office is unprecedented. The fact that we make lenses from liquid plastic to the finished Rx in one simple step gives us the unique opportunity to do all of the coatings in the mold before the lens is actually made. No one else can do that." Yager added.

OPTICAL DYNAMICS RELEASES NEW LENS MATERIALS clearLIGHT™ PLUS and sunSMART™ PHOTOCHROMIC

Louisville, Kentucky. July, 2010 - Optical Dynamics continues to expand their line of lens materials with the launch of their new clearLIGHT™ PLUS and sunSMART™ photochromic lens monomers.

The clearLIGHT™ PLUS patented lens material allows more light to reach the patient's eyes allowing them to see better. "Our name says it all," said Michael Yager, Vice President Sales. "Our lenses are both ultra clear and extremely light weight. That coupled with our digital surface quality provide for a distortion free lens. For the wearer that means better vision and enhanced visual comfort."

"Our new patented sunSMART™ photochromic gives our customers a true competitive advantage," said Yager. The sunSMART™ lens is a premium lens that is lighter indoors, dark in full sun and adjusts in overcast conditions. The sunSMART™ lens has an appealing activated color and is very fast in deactivation. SunSMART photochromics block 100% of the UVA and UVB rays and has long-lasting properties built into the lens material.

"The addition of the clearLIGHT PLUS and sunSMART photochromic lens materials makes our digital lens process more profitable than ever for the eyecare professional," said Ed McGhee, Sales Manager. "Utilizing digital free form molds rather than traditional grinding and polishing, eyecare professionals can now offer clearer sharper lenses in both clear and photochromic materials."

The clearLIGHT™ PLUS and sunSMART™ photochromic lens material can be used in conjunction with the in-office Q-2100 Digital Lens System. For locations without a Q-2100 unit, clearLIGHT™ PLUS and sunSMART™ photochromic lenses can be ordered uncut through Vision Dynamics Laboratory.

Vision Dynamics Acquires Sungate

Louisville, Kentucky. September 28, 2007 – Vision Dynamics, parent company of Optical Dynamics has acquired all the assets of Sungate LLC of Warwick, Rhode Island.

Sungate uses patented processes that convert clear polycarbonate lenses to novel eyewear, safety wear and sun wear products.

Vision Dynamics’ CEO, Jeff Plank, stated “This acquisition broadens our portfolio of technological breakthroughs expanding our product line and accelerating market growth.”

Sungate’s Uniform Density Technology (UDT) allows a perfect sun lens with IR protection to be produced without tinting.  With UDT any color lens can be created without fading or “bull’s-eye” issues. Another company creation is called Color Mag Spectral Amplification Technology.  These lenses stabilize the neutral colors and magnify the primary colors, thereby enhancing contrast and increasing depth perception. These lenses are popular for outdoor activities such as shooting or sailing.

Bob Miniutti, President of Sungate said “We are pleased with the synergistic qualities that Vision Dynamics has with its years of research into cold temperature fluid deposition.  The two bodies of research compliment each other very well”.

Sungates’ production facility will be moved to the Vision Dynamics facility in Louisville Kentucky.  This move should be completed within the next thirty days.
