Vision Dynamics Acquires Sungate
Louisville, Kentucky. September 28, 2007 – Vision Dynamics, parent company of Optical Dynamics has acquired all the assets of Sungate LLC of Warwick, Rhode Island.
Sungate uses patented processes that convert clear polycarbonate lenses to novel eyewear, safety wear and sun wear products.
Vision Dynamics’ CEO, Jeff Plank, stated “This acquisition broadens our portfolio of technological breakthroughs expanding our product line and accelerating market growth.”
Sungate’s Uniform Density Technology (UDT) allows a perfect sun lens with IR protection to be produced without tinting. With UDT any color lens can be created without fading or “bull’s-eye” issues. Another company creation is called Color Mag Spectral Amplification Technology. These lenses stabilize the neutral colors and magnify the primary colors, thereby enhancing contrast and increasing depth perception. These lenses are popular for outdoor activities such as shooting or sailing.
Bob Miniutti, President of Sungate said “We are pleased with the synergistic qualities that Vision Dynamics has with its years of research into cold temperature fluid deposition. The two bodies of research compliment each other very well”.
Sungates’ production facility will be moved to the Vision Dynamics facility in Louisville Kentucky. This move should be completed within the next thirty days.
